HCS Digital Learning Portal

I am so excited to announce the official launch of the new HCS Digital Learning Portal.  Here is a quick summary:

PD credit can now be given through the new HCS Digital Learning Portal (bit.ly/hcsdigitallearning).  HCS staff can access training videos and complete the assignment that follows.  Submissions are time and date stamped and credit cannot be given during the regularly scheduled work day.  Trainings will be added frequently and staff can choose to be notified when a training is added by signing up for the RSS feed.

Trainings will be added frequently to the site and each category page is equipped with an RSS feed subscription.  If the option “subscribe to posts” is clicked an email will be sent every time a training has been added.

The trainings will vary in amount of PD credit.  Currently both Ainsley Rose sessions are live and ready for completion for 3 hours professional learning credit.  Under each training on the site there is a form.  The form will auto collect usernames, therefore staff MUST BE SIGNED INTO HARDIN COUNTY GOOGLE ACCOUNT to access and complete all digital training.

Once a training is completed, Kim Hensley (PD Specialist) will be notified of submission via email.  She will review the submission and award credit in the system.  Please allow up to 5 business days for credit to appear in the account online.  Note:  If digital learning trainings are completed during the regularly scheduled work day, professional learning credit CANNOT BE AWARDED.

Technology trainings will be added frequently covering a wide range of topics including (but not limited to):  Google Classroom/My Maps/Docs/Sheets/Slides, a variety of formative assessment tools, and video editing tools.  In addition to the digital technology trainings, staff will have the opportunity to attend monthly workshops to be held in the HCS boardroom (beginning in November).  Dates will be posted on the calendar on the homepage in addition to the Technology Digital Learning page.  The best way to stay notified of upcoming trainings and professional learning opportunities is to subscribe to updates.
